چکیده

Aim. This study aimed to describe a distinct subpopulation of azoospermic patients with isolated elevation follicle-stimulating hormone (iFSH) and poor outcomes microdissection testicular sperm extraction (microTESE). Materials methods. A retrospective analysis microTESE was conducted among 565 non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). Testicular pathology assessed by the dominant histological pattern Bergmann–Kliesch score (BKS). Descriptive statistics were presented for iFSH subgroup. Inhibin B levels, retrieval rate (SRR), BKS compared in other NOA patients. Results. The overall SRR 33.3 % per attempt. median 0.6 (interquartile range 0–2). Of all patients, 132 had iFSH, successful only 11 those cases, an 8.3 %, while total 38.1 ( p <0.001). sensitivity 32.1 (95 confidence interval 27.4–36.8) specificity 94.1 90.8–97.5) as predictor negative outcomes. Conclusion. Patients may harbor phenotype loss germ cell population surgical retrieval.

Evidence for Follicle-stimulating Hormone Receptor as a Functional Trimer*

Follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR), a G-protein coupled receptor, is an important drug target in the development of novel therapeutics for reproductive indications. The FSHR extracellular domains were observed in the crystal structure as a trimer, which enabled us to propose a novel model for the receptor activation mechanism. The model predicts that FSHR binds Asnα(52)-deglycosylated...

Bioactive Follicle-Stimulating Hormone

Specific and sensitive in vitro bioassays suitable for measurement of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in small quantities of serum and urine have recently been validated. Comparisons of bioassay (B-FSH) potencies with immunoassay (I-FSH) estimates and chromatofocusing patterns have facilitated new discoveries regarding the regulation of FSH biosynthesis, storage, secretion, serum concentrati...

P-198: Utilization of Pichia Pastoris Secretion System for Expression of Equine Follicle Stimulating Hormone

Background: Equine follicle stimulating hormone (eFSH) is a pituitary heterodimeric glycoprotein consists of noncovalently linked of generic alpha subunit and a hormone specific beta subunit. The molecular weights of the subunits are similar and about 16 KD. In general, FSH plays a key role in controlling vertebrate gonadal functions. In female mammals, ovarian maturation and follicular growth ...
